Dr. Nina Ahmad is running for Auditor General of Pennsylvania to ensure accountability and transparency remain in the Auditor General’s office.
Dr. Nina Ahmad came to the United States at age 21, worked hard to put herself through college and finally the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry, succeeded as a molecular biologist, and became a small business owner. Data driven solutions have always been a trademark of Nina’s.
She ushered in an era of change in Philadelphia while serving as President of NOW addressing sexual violence and always worked for inclusion and equity. Her role as Deputy Mayor for Public Engagement included support and reform for the city’s Youth Commission, the Office of Black Male Engagement, office of LGBTQ affairs and establishing the Office of Engagement for Women within which is housed the Philadelphia Commission for Women.
Nina proudly served President Barack Obama as a member of the National Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, providing insight on key issues regarding the well-being of these communities. Nina fights for others and practices the mantra “Leave No One Behind.”
Dr. Nina and her husband Ahsan are longtime residents of the Mt. Airy neighborhood, where they raised their two daughters and are safe guarded by the trusted family canine companion, Oscar.
